Community Distribution Centers
The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is expanding our footprint across the city.
In partnership with L&M Development Partners and a team of dedicated supporters, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) has also moved further into the Rockaways by way of Arverne View.
Arverne View (57-17 Rockaway Beach Blvd), a housing complex in Queens, New York, will now include a food distribution center with the potential for benefits access services run by TCAH. This combination of facilities will enable The Campaign Against Hunger to store more nutritious food with easier access to neighbors who need it in the Rockaways. Before opening this new location, TCAH was serving five partners with 700 bags of food on a weekly basis. We are now supporting an additional 28 community partners with the added space
The Campaign Against Hunger has mobilized to meet the needs of our community by improving access to nutritious food and related resources. In the year since COVID-19 began to impact New York City, we have amassed over 250 partnerships and provided enough food for more than 20 million meals—this is more than six times the capacity of a typical year for us. We are living through difficult times, but together with the coordination and collaboration of elected officials, community-based organizations, and partners around the city and beyond, we can advance food justice in NYC.
