BROOKLYN NETS TO VISIT U.S. ARMY GARRISON FORT HAMILTON MILITARY POST AS PART OF NBA CARES HOOPS FOR TROOPS
Brooklyn, NY (November 17, 2014) – The Brooklyn Nets will visit historic U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton at the intersection of 101st Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn TOMORROW, Tuesday, November 18, from noon – to 4 p.m. The event will be presented by Key Food.
The Nets will begin their visit at Fort Hamilton with a team practice, which will be open to troops and other military personnel. Media will be permitted to attend a portion of practice and have the opportunity to speak with players immediately following the session.
After practice, Nets players Markel Brown, Cory Jefferson, and Jerome Jordan, along with Miss New York 2014 Jillian Tapper, Brooklyn boxer Zachary Ochoa, four Brooklynettes, and 20 veterans will serve an early Thanksgiving meal to 100 Brooklynites from Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger, which provides more than 200,000 emergency meals each month to vulnerable New Yorkers.
As part of the event, those being served will receive WE ARE BROOKLYN gift bags, each containing a $50 Key Food gift card and a Nets t-shirt.
